Mike, you should have stuck around Smith Lake. I’ve caught gigantic stripers there. I live very close and I’ve never been spotted bass or largemouth fishing, just striper and there are some excellent guides. Btw, just got home from my camp in Wheeler. Caught a 4.5 20 inch smallmouth. Hopefully you’ll finish strong on the northern lakes!

You would be surprised at the size of some of the cutthroats inside Rocky Mountain National Park! Longer hike but amazing views plus a big waterfall if you head off of the Glacier Gorge Trailhead (the one before Bear Lake and head up to The Loch. Amazing lake and 2 more above it for brookies. Dream lake off of the Bear Lake Trails gets fished a ton too. Ridiculously clear water all over and beautiful curries up there. If you had time I’d say to hit up South Park County where you will catch trout that will make you wish you brought your bass gear 😆 Antero Res, Spinney Mtn Res (good meds trout water) and Elevenmile hold some monsters! Rainbows, cut bows and browns will average 20-24”. Pike and Tiger muskies are a bonus fish in all three. Big 4-6” jerkbaits, spoons and tube jigs on the conventional side for me! Going to be pulling my nephew around Antero in a float tube with my kayak on Thursday since he has never experienced SP fishing yet. You will love all of the micro breweries out here too! Family activity if you head into Estes Park…there’s a mini golf/go-cart/giant slide place that’s conveniently placed right next to the Estes Park Brewery. Soo much to do out here! You guys will have a blast!!

Down here on my home lakes Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn you'd be hard pressed to see anyone without at least 1 Carolina rig on their front deck. I alway found it funny several years ago to present day when you hear a lot of the pros or UA-camrs say how much they hate this rig or how stupid it is. I've caught more fish and big fish along with a few double digits on this rig then anything else and it's worked on every body of water I've ever been on. I have at least 1 tied up on my front deck 365 days a year. Sometimes I'll have 2 or 3 with different size or style of weights and plastics. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

Hey Ike, I just want to say that I've bass fished my whole life and never touched any abu Garcia equipment and that's crazy because I've just recently started using some of their cheaper combo's and was absolutely amazed at the performance...that abu stuff is a cut above the rest and I tested it against more expensive gear,it's really good quality

Thats funny. Im 25 and i was talking to my dad the other day about using wome older baits that people seem to have just forgotten about. I dont think i ever used a carolina rig but i always remember my dad using it when i was a kid. This is the aign i needed definitely gonna tie one on this week.

Not always deeper.....shallower water on some lakes has the O2 that holds them super shallow. Now shade, and cover, yes. Gotta show down too.

Yeah and funny part is you rarely see pros doing it?? I've caught more fish on a C-rig than I could ever count.

Surface temps here are low 90’s right now, it’s rough but still out there trying to get some fish on a hook.

I remember seeing this rig and buying the set-up with brass weights and 2 red/orange beads decades ago. Still have it unopened in my old tackle box. I'll have to bust it out and try it.
